“It’s amazing how much space matters when we start bringing in equipment. I never thought that we would fill that building as quick as we did, but it happened.”
“Nationals machine’s based on the wire size that it can cut, and since the 1500 can cut inch and a half wire, that’s where it gets the name National 1500.”
“Well these machines have been around since the 70’s.”
“It’s a huge step for Seaway. I mean, there’s eighteen of those machines in the world, and we now own three of them, which I think is pretty cool for a little company in Columbia Station, Ohio.”
“Yeah it’s crazy to have three of them. Definitely didn’t think we would have them and it kinda landed on our lap, so.”
“It’s a big endeavor. I know maintenance spent four to five weeks in Michigan tearing it apart just so we can move the machines.”
“We just had a really good crew. We did. There was a lot of late night phone calls trying to get trucks involved. Trucks canceled on us, but we had the right people in place and when there were obstacles we were able to overcome it.”
“Watching it come in was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. The trailer and all of the technology.”
“Some people brought their grandchildren here. Just I mean, to see this kind of…”
“I like the bigger machines and that one’s huge so I mean, I like that a lot.”
“Ray is really good about buying a machine and then rebuilding it and then with the work that he does to it, the proven, the maintenance, the people that he has to work on these machines, it makes it tend to last longer and it does better.
“Ray doesn’t pinch when it comes to the quality of the machine being rebuilt. He has maintenance check everything so when it’s running, it’s running good.”
“When our maintenance team is done with them, they’re going to be better than they were.”
“These machines will be stripped down all the way to the frame, have five degree wing layers put in, all new electrical system. It will be state of the art when it’s done.”
“The part that I think is really exciting is both of them come equipped with number seven wire drawers. What that’s going to do is enable us to start buying just rod wire and it’s going to save us quite a bit of money per machine just because now we can actually draw it in house as opposed to having somebody else do it for us. So at the end of the day it’s going to end up saving us at least a half million to a million dollars every year just because we can draw our own material now.”
“The great thing about these machines here is going to be great capabilities to see the alternating blow, we can do segmented parts and actually form some parts that nobody has even formed before so it opens up a lot of avenues here. We’re the only ones that have alternating role at 1500s, and we’ve got two of them that will do that which is very unique in this industry because there’s none out there.”
“You need growth. You have to have growth. You can’t stay idle. You always have to be looking for other jobs to make and produce to keep this industry going, this company going, and it’s great. It’s nice to see that this company’s doing well and it’s able to grow.”
